A relaxed three-day plan
This itinerary is for three full days in Benidorm, with your arrival and departure arrangements around them. It works as a weekend break or the start of a longer holiday. Swap the days to suit the weather and your accommodation; you do not need a car for the main stops.
Choose one main area each day, take a proper lunch break and leave room for something you discover along the way. Walking distances depend on where you stay. Check the route before heading out, especially if heat, hills or steps could be an issue.
| Day | Morning | Afternoon | Evening |
|---|---|---|---|
| 1 | Breakfast and Levante promenade | Beach time or a relaxed café stop | Live music on the Levante side |
| 2 | Old Town lanes and viewpoint | Tapas, harbour and Mal Pas | Dinner and a seafront stroll |
| 3 | Poniente promenade | Beach, a long lunch or your favourite spot | One final meal or show |
Day 1: Find your feet around Levante
Morning: breakfast, then the promenade
Start close to where you are staying rather than crossing town for breakfast. Use our breakfast guide to find the style you fancy, then head towards Levante promenade. Walk as far as feels comfortable, stopping to get your bearings and pick a place you might return to later.
If you are staying near the Old Town, begin at that end; if you are in Rincón de Loix, start from the eastern end. This is a gentle orientation walk, not a challenge to cover the whole seafront.
Afternoon: leave time for the beach
Have lunch near your chosen stretch and spend the afternoon on the beach, at your accommodation or in a café with a view. Follow the beach flags and local advice. Loungers, refreshments and any equipment are separate choices for your budget.
Evening: pick one show you really want to see
Browse the Benidorm365 app for the day’s entertainment and map directions. Our guides to Morgan Tavern, Western Saloon and Uncle Ped’s give you places to start.
Choose a venue before setting off and check the current line-up, admission arrangements and drinks prices. Tribute performances are tribute acts, not appearances by the original artists. Give yourself time to eat and travel home comfortably.
Day 2: Old Town, sea views and tapas
Morning: explore the lanes and the viewpoint
Make the Old Town your focus today. Browse the lanes around the centre, then head towards the church and the upper viewpoint at the Balcón del Mediterráneo. The headland sits between the two main beaches, so it is a useful place to understand the shape of the town.
There are slopes and steps around the viewpoint, particularly down to the lower platform. Check a suitable route for your mobility and enjoy the upper area if the descent does not suit you. Wear comfortable shoes and take your time.

Lunch: make tapas part of the day
Use our Old Town tapas guide to choose a stop. Look at the menu, portion sizes and drinks prices first. Order a little, then add more if you are hungry; a tapa, pintxo and larger sharing plate are not interchangeable portions.
Afternoon: harbour and Mal Pas
Continue towards the harbour and the small Mal Pas beach if you fancy another sea view. Settle for a drink or a rest instead of adding a second long walk. You can return to your accommodation before dinner, especially if you plan a later evening.
Evening: dinner at your own pace
Stay in the Old Town for dinner or return to your own area. If conditions suit, finish with a seafront stroll around sunset. Check the sunset time for your travel dates rather than relying on a fixed hour.
Day 3: Poniente and time for your favourites
Morning: see the other main beach
Start on the Poniente side near Parque de Elche and follow the promenade for as long as you fancy. Stop for coffee and compare the atmosphere with Levante. You do not need to reach the far end to enjoy it.
If your accommodation is already on Poniente, reverse this plan and use today to visit the part of Levante you have not seen. Our getting around guide helps if you would rather use a bus or taxi for one leg.

Afternoon: choose one thing, not five
Have a long lunch, return to your favourite beach or browse the shops. If a market day falls during your stay, you can swap this afternoon for a market visit, checking its actual day and opening arrangements first.
For a short break, leaving time to revisit a place you enjoyed can be more rewarding than spending the afternoon travelling to another destination.
Evening: your final meal or show
Pick the evening you most enjoyed and do more of it. Check What’s On for your date, or book a restaurant you spotted earlier. If you leave the next morning, allow time to pack and confirm your transfer.
Make the itinerary work for you
Travelling with children
Shorten the walks, keep beach and meal breaks flexible and choose suitable early entertainment. If you add a ticketed attraction, give it its own half or full day and confirm seasonal opening before booking.
Prefer a quieter break?
Replace the late shows with an early dinner and promenade stroll. Choose accommodation using the exact address and noise reviews, rather than assuming a whole area is silent.
Rain or strong heat?
Swap a beach session for a leisurely lunch, cafés or shopping. Check the weather guide and current forecast; avoid forcing a long exposed walk into unsuitable conditions.
Before your three-day break
- Choose your base: compare areas, hotels and self-catering apartments. The apartments guide includes our Trip.com search.
- Sort arrival and departure: read the airport transfer guide and leave a buffer around your flight.
- Plan spending: allow separately for meals, drinks, transport and optional activities. See Benidorm on a budget.
- Use current information: our app brings together food, bars, map links and entertainment. Check the date on a listing and confirm anything essential with the venue.
Short-break questions
Is three days enough for Benidorm?
It is enough for a first taste of the beaches, Old Town, food and entertainment. Keep day trips and major attractions optional if you want a relaxed pace.
Do I need to hire a car?
The main itinerary stays within Benidorm. Walking, with a bus or taxi when useful, can cover it; choose according to your location and mobility.
Can I do this on a budget?
The promenades, Old Town browsing and public beach visits do not require an attraction ticket. Meals, drinks, transport, beach extras and entertainment purchases still need a budget.
