Choose the right Benidorm market

Benidorm’s outdoor market, municipal market and indoor market are different places. Pick the one that fits your shopping plans and the area you are visiting. An outdoor market morning can combine well with breakfast; an indoor shopping stop is a useful alternative when you want a break from the weather.

Regular outdoor market days are shown below. Public holidays, local events and temporary relocations can change arrangements, so check the latest local information before travelling specifically for a market.

Important: Foietes is a separate market from El Pueblo. Wednesday visitors can choose either; the regular Sunday outdoor listing here refers to El Pueblo.

Which one suits your day?

A Levante market morning

Choose El Pueblo if you are staying around Levante and want general stalls and souvenirs. Go in the morning rather than leaving it for an afternoon shopping trip. Have breakfast first, then leave room in your plans for a coffee stop.

Food and local shopping

Foietes is a useful option for a Wednesday produce stop. Before setting off, check municipal notices for holiday changes or a temporary move. Mercado Central is another option when you are already exploring the centre.

An indoor alternative

Mercaloix’s own website lists gifts, services, butchers and food and drink businesses. Individual stalls may have different hours: check a particular business directly if that is the main reason for your trip.

Practical tips for a better visit

  • Take a reusable bag and bring only what you are comfortable carrying back.
  • Check the total price and whether a stall accepts cards before choosing your purchases.
  • Carry water and sun protection for an outdoor visit, especially in warmer months.
  • Keep valuables secure in crowded aisles and leave room for other shoppers to pass.
  • If you need a step free route or seating breaks, plan those before travelling.

Browsing can be a low cost activity, but it is easy to spend more than intended on several small purchases. Agree a shopping budget and compare quality as well as price. Food shopping also needs a plan for keeping purchases cool if you will spend the rest of the day outside.

Getting there and making a day of it

Use our getting around guide to compare walking, local buses and taxis. Check the exact destination rather than asking only for “the market”, which can mean different places.

Combine your visit with a breakfast stop, then browse the Old Town or spend time on the beach. The Benidorm365 app helps you browse its food and entertainment listings for the rest of your day.

Common market questions

Is there a market every day?

The outdoor markets in this guide have specific regular days. Indoor markets and individual shops have their own opening arrangements; check those separately.

Are the published days guaranteed on holidays?

No. Municipal events and holidays can change the day or location. Check a current notice if your visit falls around a fiesta or public holiday.

Can I visit just for breakfast or a café?

At Mercaloix, check the particular food business’s hours. A market building being open does not mean every stall is serving.
